After the hotfix patch release, I haven't seen a post from them discussing a new patch at all. I really hope they haven't abandoned this game.

I have made a number of posts about exactly that, actually.
 
There will be a new update, and it will be 'really soon now'.

Whoops my bad. What are the changes planned? If you have stated them already can you link the post or point me to the thread?

No problem. I've posted bits and pieces in several threads, but I won't have a formal list of all the changes to post until in the update ready to go out the door. The focus is primarily on multi-player performance, vehicle pathfinding, and bug fixes.
