look like slitherine server are down. no wev site no pbem possible

The server restarted for some reason - when it rebooted it didn't start up correctly. We're on it but not sure why it restarted or what exactly is causing the issue restarting. Sorry for the inconvenience and we'll get it back up ASAP.

In my experience sudden restarts are usually heat-based - check the fans / airflow / dust build-up inside the machine

No, but the one that has gone down runs the Slitherine site.

Its a hardware issue at the data center - they're working on it now

Yesterday was self inflicted - the newsletter generated more traffic than expected because of the Pandora announcement and beta test drive and it overloaded the servers...

It's never had this effect before so we're going to send it out in a different way in future to avoid these issues.

yeah about this Pandora you really have a lot to live up to comparing it to Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Galactic Civilization. It had better have an awesome toughest most challenging ai ever and that two more turn feeling since you compared it to both. If it doesn't have custom build units you're in big trouble too and it better have zoom-in tactical battles using Norbsofts combat engine. [:'(]

I never did play AC..shame everyone loves it. I do agree with RTW aswell, mentioning AC is certainly trying to fill some big boots, not just that it is a classic well loved game but also fighting nostalgia and rose coloured glasses aswell.

You can get it on GOG for a song now Wodin and it comes with the expansion crossfire which made it even greater.
