If I choose to not deploy some units at the beginning of a scenario, can I later in same scenario deploy them as a reserve?

Thanks, can I ask another? In Kiev you only get to deploy 18 units, if I lose a core unit should I be able to deploy the reserve core units? Or maybe buy a new unit?

I am unable to do either.

Are there pre-placed auxiliaries on the map? Once I had the bug that I could not buy a replacement for a units I just lost until I disbanded some auxiliaries. Very strange.
Anyway, press F8 to toggle the unit reserve list. Left from the turn counter it will show you how many units you're left/allowed to deploy.

In the example below one more unit to place from the maximum of 32 core units on the battlefield.
