I modified the dawn officer 2.13 by adding new units. Only a couple of those units had new tech associated with them and they work fine. The rest fell under the old tech tree.

For example I added SS Infantry to German regimes. I made 4 levels all associated with the 4 rifle existing research tree. In my current game for some reason I can not research above third level, the 4th is just not listed. Any ideas?

Guessing here... some levels are connected to other tech levels, so for instance you can only get Heavy Artillery II once you have Artillery II. So maybe you have to get Inf IV before you can get SS IV??
 
Cool thing to add though, I'd love to have the special forces, Marines, SAS (or was it SOES??), Mountaineers and what not.

SS come from Rifle, the problem is I can not research rifle IV it is not listed.
