From these two images of the pilothouse, can you name the ship class?

1 of 2: left of center pilot house

Please restrict your responses to proper ship classes, Mr. Warspite1-per the initial query. Good day.

Its the pilot house of a WWII ship, smaller than a carrier but larger than a DE.

I actually think its a light cruiser but I can't think of any you can tour.

Well! [X(]

The boat in Operation Petticoat was real - I know, I saw it on T.V and everything. I just thought perhaps the inside and outside were colour co-ordinated...

Good day to you sir.

USS Little Rock, a Cleveland class CL converted to a Guided Missile cruiser, is a museum ship at Buffalo, NY.

But it's not her in the pictures above.

Another museum CL is HMS Belfast, but it isn't her either.

Under no circumstances would an American ship have been 'colour' [sic] co-ordinated with anything. Perhaps the inside and outside may have been color co-ordinated.

Correct. NOT Converted Guided Missile Cruiser.
Another museum CL is HMS Belfast, but it isn't her either.

Correct. NOT HMS Belfast.

Generally speaking, a USN warship does not have a "pilot house." This is a bridge.

It is shown rigged for red. Nighttime operations.

From the round viewports I'd say this is pretty old. The USN went to quadrilateral bridge views--with wipers--during the war I believe.

From the reflection in the glass, is that the map room behind the photographer, or is this just a piece of the ship cut out and put in a museum?

Are those fire sprinklers original equipment or added later?

Well,

the only other light cruisers which will come to my mind are HMS Caroline in Belfast, and USS Olympia in Philadelphia. From the photos I took from Olympia in 2005 it can“t be the command stand, as the windows are different. So my guess is HMS Caroline ...

So many questions! You're not supposed to answer a question with a question! [;)]

You haven't yet answered the question posed to you, so...nyah! [:'(]
