I have just updated the game to 1.04. In the GC as Germany the following happend:
In turn 33 (incasion of france pending) I was asked about a decision "explain war effort..." and after my answer
the PP dropped to -258. After this the recovery was about 2 per week !! Now I am invading France with -252 PPs.
Is this a bug ?

Meteor2,
You really need to be careful to read event descriptions fully, as well as any option explanations. Chances are the answer you picked cost you PP's. Chances are this is a case of operator error and hopefully you'll learn to be more careful about reading event descriptions fully, including the option explanations.

Don't know if it's a bug, you could read the reports section/events, to see if anything might have affected PP levels that much. If you want to keep the game going after investing 33 turns of your time, you could use F12, select Germany and restore the PP level back to where you think it should be. You can do this at any time, it doesn't matter which country you may be playing at this stage of the game, as F12 allows you to adjust any of the nations on your side. The alternative is to go back to any game saves you have from earlier turns and watch what events occur, as you play on. [:)]

Right, I red the comment, but I am really astonished about the recovery rate of only 2-3 per turn. Before I got 45 PP per turn, which would mean 8 weeks for the balance.

Social unrest will drop your production drastically. Sounds like you had the event where there is unrest in Germany over an extended war. If I recall correctly, if you choose to spend resources to quickly crush that unrest, you lose 300 PP immediately, while if you choose to ignore the unrest, you lose social unrest points. Either way, the event is onerous, but definitely not a bug.
Germany does not make a lot of PPs early in the war until it has taken the Low Countries and France at the very least. If you don't get conquests, you will not be able to maintain your army. You also need Yugo and Greece for their PPs.

Thanks for the answer. Yes, thats it. Unrest increased to 19%. Probably my estimate about recovery length was wrong.

But to add this: I have never been really happy about negativ PPs. A reduction to zero with an increasing small rate of recovery seems to be more understandable (at least for me).
Wait until You have Too Many PP's

Meteor2,
If you don't like negative PP's and having only a small positive amount each turn to buy yourself out of the hole then wait until you start getting over 500 or 1,000 PP's on hand at the end of a turn. Then you'll experience the joy of "Corruption" events that take away PP's just because you have too many on hand. That's usually a 10% pop. Sad that you have to save up PP's to buy certain high priced items like nuclear research or armored corps or strategic bombers and have this frustrating reduction happen where sometimes it will drop you below your needed amount and you've got to wait another turn to see if you get zapped by another corruption event.
