LOS Tools

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

LOS Tools

Post by dazkaz15 »

Just a few ideas for an improved LOS tool, for future releases or expansions.

My thinking behind this one, is that it would be more useful to have the LOS Area, and the LOS tool combined.

After selecting the LOS Area tool from the tab, your first click on the map would activate the LOS Area as it is in game at this time.
From this click you can then click and drag out the LOS tool from that point, where both the LOS tool, and the LOS Area tool will be displayed on screen at the same time, or just leave it as a single click where only the LOS Area will be displayed.

There is an option to have a series of blue range rings that will be displayed from your click, but will also be dragged out attached to your curser and the end of the LOS tool if you drag it out.
This will have rings displayed at common ranges for effective fire, 300m as an example as its the effective fire for most small arms infantry coy's.

A nice new feature would be a line connecting the gradient lines that are projected from the LOS tool, to give a better understanding of the terrain under the line.
This would invert at 0 and 180 deg so that is stays the right way up!
The line would also be segmented so that in flat (Netherlands) terrain you can still read off the 100m segments.

The distance the line is dragged out would be displayed in the tab as shown, or in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
