Is there any way in the Scenmaker that I can set the initial facing of units? Anyone know? Thanks.

Unfortunately..no. Would be on my wishlist for future versions.
So far, facing is determined by the AI at game start, most likely related to any known enemy units (intel setting). If needed for human player side, you could set orders delay to nil for set time and get desired facings in few minutes, with some loss of cohesion though.

Danke, Harry. It was actually a question for me playing COTA, present version, because this was an issue I queried, and Dave fixed, some time ago in BFTB - that the starting facings are often mad, and when you change them you lose cohesion, plus, if they were entrenched etc, they go back to 'deployed'. Like I said, Dave fixed it in BFTB and now, I find, the AI starting facing in BFTB is usually great. But for the old COTA it's still mad. Just wondered if anyone knew a way round it. I was trying the Op Crusader scenarios again. Won't be an issue, I assume, when the COTA pack comes and I greedily buy it, at once. But your tip is good - thanks. I'm not sure, but I think that if you really try to put the defend box (for example) exactly where the unit is you can get away with it changing facing and still being entrenched, or dug in. That seems to happen, anyway - in which case, that and a no delay setting would be a kind of workaround.

Yes, if you open with your units entrenched, for example, and you give a defend order with a facing, and choose "in situ" formation(MUST DO THIS PART) they remain entrenched, and keep their cohesion, and simply re-aim to the new heading.

Thanks Navwarcol. That's what I do, but it doesn't seem to always work out like that. I must watch more closely. You sure? But maybe it does work like that in BFTB, whereas I'm trying it with COTA. I'll have to experiment a bit. Thanks.
