What's the future of LOS in this game?

Wondering what the future of this game is in terms of rules adjustments and bug fixes. Bugs have been reported and I hope they are being addressed (knowing this takes time). Also, I think for many of us exposed to the tabletop version first the current LOS implementation is a let down.

I wonder given how the game was developed if it can even be changed from the custom LOS rules and if so is that even under consideration.

Anyone else feel the same way about LOS they way it is currently?

I so want AtB to be a 10+ in my library!

Yes I'd like to see 'classic' LOS rules implemented as well - at the moment it is difficult to play the PC game due to discrepancies (or design decisions) in the board game rules such as these.

cheers

I want classic LOS as well. It's one of the major issues I have with the game. Will not be buying future products in this line unless a more classic board game option is present.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments.

The several outstanding bugs that have been reported have either already been fixed or are scheduled to be addressed. We're working on a DLC pack adding the very frequently requested campaign mode and on the SOS expansion presently; addressing these few remaining bugs are part of this schedule.

With regard to the LOS rules, we added many items that the board-game purists requested, and now we're rather waiting to see whether the addition of those items actually will have an effect on sales. This data will help us decide how to prioritize further requests for board-game purity. Imagine overlapping graphs of logarithmic curves.

For whatever it's worth, this sort of topic isn't really germane to the "Tech Support" subforum so -- with great respect -- I'm pressing a button that I think will move this thread to the main discussion area. Feel free to continue the discussion here, but if you don't mind I'd like to reserve the "Tech Support" subforum for questions about video drivers and the like.

Thanks Eric. Yeah, putting it in Tech Support was a lapse of judgement or an oversight on my part.

I'm not sure that I can describe how LOS is currently implemented other than something it about running off of real maps or realistic terrain. I generally like innovative approaches but since I can't explain this one I don't know what to expect rule-wise. It makes it very difficult to play honestly. Or at least discouraging.

Best of luck, I hope you get he results you are looking for. Maybe that will end up with the game *I* am looking for. :)

Regarding sales - the problem is getting the strong message out to the board game community that the game does in fact play similarly now, and that this community should support the game, but they will just have to wait on the LOS rules (and some other minor rules issues reported in the bug forum not yet addressed).
