Installed 1123e and capital "Rs" disappeared from unit interface screens.

Can't provide a screenshot or saved game until tomorrow as I'm at work now.

I also installed AndyMac's Iron man Nasty the same day, but I can't see how scenario dat files should impact the game so severely and the missing Rs are missing in both Iron man Nasty and my older ongoing game of Babe's Ironman (scenario #55).

Should I install 1123g and hope it fizes it or hold off on another upgrade until I can supply screenshots and a saved game?

This happened some in the old days in WITP for me. Not capital Rs, but always the same letter, whatever it was. A reboot of the PC always fixed it. Don't know if it's a RAM page error, or if it's DirectX related, or something else, but I'd be surprised if it's related to the beta patch.

I haven't had a chance to play in the last couple of days so I'll see if it still acts up after a fresh cold boot tonight.

DirectX sometimes gets corrupted with the game. When I get graphics anomalies, I try these things in order:

1) Click on some unused hex like mid-ocean (this clears out the bottom bar in the game window). Then minimize the game window and bring it back. This often clears the black background on text.
2) If that doesn't work quit the game and restart.
3) Last resort reboot the computer.

Rebooting usually clears the problem if nothing else will. I have a weird glitch in one of my computers, I think it is with the graphics card, when running in windowed mode it usually comes up with the black background on the text. If I minimize and then maximize again, it goes away. Annoying, but isolated to that computer only.
