Will the DLC scenarios on AGEOD's site work with the Matrix version?

Will the DLC's be up for sale here or just at AGEOD?

Do the DLC's add more to game play or are they just scenarios?

From what I gather from reading they are scenarios.

Will Matrix be selling them?

Each is a separate game in its own right. They are useful to learn aspects of the game, so the Boer War will give you a useful insight into the frustration of colonial war, where overwhelming power is pretty useless if you can't find your opponent.

The exception is the 1880 DLC which gives you an alternative start date and, since it is after the German and Italain unifications, presents you with a Europe that matches our time line. It also means you start with the final stages of colonialism and so on.

Other scenarios/DLCs are good games but to some extent it depends on if the subject matter interests you

Edit - if you are not used to the AGEOD wego turn ending system, I'd suggest play some of the scenarios quite a lot. There is a lot to understand about how turns execute, stances, commitment, movement and so on. One risk in the full campaign is you can lose an army you've just spend 5 years slowly building up by a simple mistake.

As far as future releases, we are in the process of adding all the other releases, including a new version of Rise of Prussia and all the extra DLCs for all AGEOD games to the Matrix and Slitherine stores.

Perhaps you can bundle the DLC's with the main game as will be done with Panzer Corps....

Deomrve -

I have all DLC on my computer, but have only played the Spanish American War Scenario.

Originally I started with the full 1850 Campaign (twice) as the USA. While eventually comfortable with the day to day economic, industrial and diplomatic aspects of PON, I had, despite multiple readings of the rules, little practical experience with the actual combat mechanics. The Spanish American War Scenario allowed me to focus on warfare in general and combat in particular. Must have played the scenario five or more times - gaining more experience, understanding and confidence with replay.

Eventually I shall play them all, as the Franco Prussian War of 1870 was vastly different in numbers involved and (perhaps!) the tactics to be used. The race to colonize Africa will be my primer on colonization.

It would be wise for me to play the American Civil War scenario prior to hitting 1860...

As best I can determine, the DLC's are scenarios only - updates are introduced through the various patches.

Hope that this helps, Sir!
