Supply Counter

How do most players use the supply counter in the game? I never really know the appropriate placement of this unit. Move? Don't move?
What do you guys think?

You mean a unit with the "Supply Unit" icon, right? It increases location supply at all locations within a supply radius of it. So, ask what section of the map you most want location supply increased and center it on that area. Usually that will be the front lines somewhere, so within one supply radius of most important part of the front lines.

At <3.4 the supply units added (still do ?) +50% supply for every adjacent cooperative unit on top of that.
So even when you're sitting on a connected rail (where otherwise the bonus from the supply radius would be wasted) it will still give you an enormous boost.
Excellent for artillery.
