Best strategy game in YEARS!

I have played military strategy games since I was a toddler - i mean literally when my father constructed a naval game by making balsa wood cruisers and battle ships. Then came Strategy and Tactis and the rest of Avalon Hill, then of course the first Commodor 64 and early PC games.
This is the first strategy game I've played in a LONG time that has cost me sleep. Very nice. But the game itself is a bit of a sleeper. Yes - the map and 'nato' sytle counters are attractive but it would be easy to miss the game amongst the crowd of other WW1 games out that can't hold a candle to it.
Congradulations to the creators of this one.
I DO wonder if a slightly more detailed scale could be accomplished without ruining the simplicity of the interface? I'm thinking more hexes and units on the board and maybe a historic order of battle with more commanders present.
If I had the time and abilty - the first grand mod I would attempt on this game would be a 'War of the Worlds' mod which would fit the era and I think would work nicely with the current economic and research model. The Martians of course would already have their tech tree complete and maybe their challange would be to force the Earthings into surrender before the virus kicks in....
