Here's the picture. When a ground unit is destroyed I can buy it back on to the board. Is there a way to do the same with air groups?

Yes, you can buy them back - just mouse over the group for details. There may be a one turn delay before the option becomes available (not positive), but it is possible.

Awesome - I was looking in the wrong place... Aircraft Losses\List destroyed air groups\R-Click 2 activate.
