New Game with multiple races on homeworld?

I just started a new game as Humans, and when checking out my first and only colony I noticed I have a mix population. I have never seen that in a new game in distant worlds. I have a population of 3867m humans, and 745m Ikkuro. Is that suppose to be an possibility now?
