My fifteen minutes of fame has arrived. Here is a photo of Rick Atkinson and his dog Kelly dropping off my autographed copy of his new book.

Nice picture...great book as well, at least so far, I've made it to the Normandy breakout.

I'm disoriented by this photo! Every crustton photo I've seen in the past has had two dominant themes: (1) A huge kittycat sitting in the lap of a nice lady, and (2) a bunch of 1970s model cars and a motorcyle that appears to have been a set for the Mod Squad.
[:)]
Hey, Mr. Sutton, tell us exactly what's going on. I don't know anything about the book, the author, or why the author would bother to deliver an autographed copy to a part-time southerner who resides in the Old Line State.

Maryland address? Beard? Birkenstock sandals? Trader Joe's bag upended over some plants in the front yard?
Hippie. [:'(]

Don't forget what looks like a Subaru in the drive!
Just don't be hating on Maryland too much [;)].

Give him a break, he appears to have some sort of amphibious vehicle on his tee shirt.

Well, I'm assuming crsutton is the dude holding the pooch. It would be very strange if the author came to sutton's house and held the dog while sutton held the book. On the other hand, the man holding the book is wearing dirty blue jeans, suggesting he's been working in the crawl space, attic, or under the sink for most of the day. So maybe the guy holding the pooch is the author, who brought along his guard dog to protect him from sutton, who is well known for assaulting authors who dangle participles.
Deductive reasoning.

Well, by this logic, maybe the author is either of the guys in the picture. Brilliant deduction, Sherlock. [:'(] Especially since crsutton identified one of the guys as the author.

You are correct, Chickenboy. See Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle.

Wouldn't we have to put crsutton in a box with a poison vial for that? Or the dog? Or some hapless felid?

That would be the other German dude's cat, Schroedinger.
I think for Heisenberg we would have to put them both on variable speed railway cars (or some other form of locomotion) with GPS locators... Presumably author and sutton have different location/speed signatures or combinations that we would be looking for in order to identify which was which.

Naw. I like my idea (box with poison vial) in it better. [;)]

Or what we call in my neck of the woods "normal". All that was so common around here, I didn't notice any of it.
We watch Portlandia and say to one another, "yup, I remember running into that!"

LOL...Busted...[8D]
Guy to the left is Atkinson. Guy to the right is, well most of you should be able to figure that out. Kelly would be the collie who belongs to "Rick" (yes, we are on first name basis). Kelly is actually a client of my wife, who is a dog trainer. When he came over for an intro with Kelly a couple of years ago and I found out who he was....well, my wife says it was like a schoolgirl meeting Sinatra for the first time...
BTW, you can say you heard it here first. He is embarking on another trilogy on our own American War of the Revolution. A ten year project he said.
And, the Subaru is my wife's. I, of course, drive a Volvo....

So you're saying if I want to meet Justin Bieber (and I so desperately do) I should marry a black market hair trafficker who's a specialist in pooch cuts?

Or get yourself a monkey and start hanging out in the same bars as he does. I hear he is short a monkey these days.[;)]
