I want to represent independent AA units equiped with M16;Ostwinds, or, generally spoken, an AA gun over ahalftrack or an armored chasis.

What will be the best option ? Armored unit with devides optimized for AA, or AA unit with "heavy armor" ?

Thanks.

I think you can only get the mobility with armored but i wonder how it would work in AA fire. Only tests can show what is better.

Thinking about theoretical statistics, AA mounted on vehicle would have probably lower accuracy, but it could have higher Soft/Hard Attacks, because there will be either extra MGs in vehicles, or you could lower, and aim weapon better, because of high mounting.

But yeah, if you want independent unit, it would be better motorized type, so it could get extra movement.

or AA unit with "heavy armor" ?

I'm not sure any of the WWII SPAAGs, except possibly the Skink, really count as 'heavily' armoured.

What I mean with "heavy armor" was "use of a tank chasis" :)

It appears that any unit which is to move with the armor bonus must be an armor unit. It also appears that AAA will function - so will artillery - when defined as armored units. If the device has "armor" of zero - or some other low value - it would be a lousy tank, so probably is a good solution. It would take a statistical collection test to show if it was not as effective as regular AAA otherwise identical? It seems like a lot of work (for little purpose) to have written code to do that directly. But there may well be special routines which apply to AAA units that differ from those which apply to armored units - so de facto the performance of the device might differ.
