Another question: what is the logic for using political points to allow marine sqns to upgrade to different older navy planes. I thought marines took all the hand me downs from the navy so I would figure it should not cost any PP for a marine sqn to upgrade into any second line navy fighter.

For example if the navy has the f6f-3 then the marines should be able to get all the old f4fs...
and when the navy has some f6f-5s then the marines should easily get some f6f-3s at no pp cost.

If team thinks current structure is better as is then ok w/ me also.

Changing US airframes for PP is from import ability of new beta, so it obviously was not planned by Scenario Designers.

Anyway, everything you are asking is directly defined in DB (planes the airgroup can upgrade/downgrade to). If plane is in this path, it will upgrade for free
