Game doesn't start on Windows XP

Hi there,
Game has been installed in on Windows XP.
When I try to start it, an error pops up
CC3.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. bladibla
Any ideas what I could do to make the game run?
The windows XP PC has a fresh service pack 3 install and thats it. Nothing else running on it
