lost combat save

starting with turn 7 my PBEM save game slot two wont save and my opponent cannt see the combat turn. We had it fine the first 6 turns. not sure what I did

not sure either but here are two simple checks I would do first:
- using Explorer or any other file tool open game SAVE folder and check attributes of the witp001.pws file (assuming we are talking WitP not AE here). Watch for Read-only attribute in particular.
- check your game settings/preferences. There is an option (I believe it is "Combat animations" option but I'm not sure here) which when turned off casue that combat replay file is not generated.
In old dark days I would also suggest to check for amount of free space on your drive volume but nowadays it would be just great way to win the competition in a quiz for most silly advice [:D]
