When I click favorites and enter AE forums, I do not have to login. I guess it is remembered. How do I, can I, get my user name and password so I can log into the help desk? I would prefer not to screw up and lose my current screen name etc in the middle of an AAR.

Go into "support" towards the top right of the page. On the right about halfway down is a box that will help you with lost names and passwords, as long as you know your email address (the one you signed up with and attached to your account, anyway.)

Doubt I remember it, back in the Comcast days, now in the Verizon days.[:D]

It could be that if you are running a comcast email, and don't have that account, you might have to set up again under your new email account. I ran into a problem like that when we had cox.net, which was the only thing available in our are of Macon for a while.
