Isolated unit retreats instead of surrendering?

WITE is patched to 1.07.07, this is the Lost Battles expansion, Stalingrad to Berlin campaign.
Screenie shows the Soviet 395 Rifle Division retreating ... note I attacked it after ONE turn cut off from supply, so it should surrender.
The 'destroyed units' screen does show it as destroyed though, can anyone help please?

Not sure if the units was really isolated..., not obvious from the screen-shot.

It is probably a display issue in that it really did get destroyed, but just listed retreated. Based on losses and you saying it was shown as destroyed, I think that's the answer. It may have retreated one hex and then surrendered on the retreat, and that's why you got the wrong message.
