Title says it all. When I am the first to discover a planetary ruins and it says it awards a tech bonus nothing actually applies to the stated tech.

I've also noticed this ...just for the record.

I've noticed that this isn't exclusive to ruins. The problem seems to affect everything that gives bonuses to specific techs except for when you retire ships.

I stole lots of researches and didn't have the problem ...
I'll try more.

Oh I forgot about tech theft. I believe that also works correctly. It's just the discoveries that don't work.

Let's explicitly list what we know are not properly rewarding tech.

So far I can confirm:
1) ruins
2) legendary pirates destroyed base tech

Finding ships may sometimes mention a bonus to a specific tech, but no actual bonus is received.

Same thing happens for all of the techs rewarded for finding the final space station the storyline points you to that gives you the Way of Ancients government type.

Those are the only others that I've encountered besides ruins.

also not working:
- colonization tech reward from independant colonies population
- shaktura/ancients tech reward from the last base. system infos do get rewarded, government also.
