FWIW the movie is now showing in letterbox in the bottom half of the screen only. Upgraded to 1.30.

I want my movie back in full screen!

Which movie is this? The ones that play in the upper right corner when scenarios start?

Yes, that's the one. And neat little video clips they are. Really help immersion.

That's strange -- they were never intended to run full-screen, just in the upper-right-hand corner of the display. But you're seeing them in the bottom now? Does this interfere with starting the scenario?

No, there is a small box in the upper (my) left-hand corner which shows the cool, old, combat video. It used to run in the whole box but now it only shows in the bottom half. I'll fire it up again this weekend and report back.

Yes, playing the first 3 games in Awakening the Bear firefights the movie only plays in the bottom half of the screen.

Also when I play General Petrov as the Germans I get an exception and bounced out of the game.

We haven't changed the video code in years, and I think it runs the video in a codec that is inside the XNA libraries (that is, I don't think it's dependent on any codec inside of Windows), so it's really surprising to me that this behavior would change. Is anybody else seeing this?

Can you reproduce the exception in General Petrov, or do you have an error message for it? General Petrov has artillery strikes and we did fix an exception error in the hot-fix with the AI artillery strikes in the last build. Have you gotten the 1.31 hot fix?

I just downloaded the demo version and I too am seeing only the bottom half of the movie in the upper right hand corner of the screen at the scenario start. This is not the full version.

Hi! Same for me, both demo version and full game that I bought today (including GD)

Having the same problem. Top half of the movie is black, it doesn't look like the move has been reduced to a letterbox just that the top half is now black.

I've just got round to downloading 1.30 and 1.31 and this problem has been with 1.18, 1.30 and 1.31. (I've just got the base game not GD)

P.S. In case anyone else is having difficulty finding the 1.31 hotfix it is here tm.asp?m=3349630

This might not be a problem just with CoH, I've just started a new campaign in Rome Total War and the video for the Senate screen is showing exactly the same problem.

My General Petrov scenario crashed when I tried to start it. But I loaded the 1.31 hot fix and it started fine. I'm not having any problem with the video, it plays in the upper right hand corner. It may be a monitor resolution issue. I have a HP 2511 HD monitor set at 1920x1080.

Just my two cents. Good Luck Gents

Looks like this was a Microsoft issue.

With one of the recent Windows updates the problem is fixed - for me at least.

Same issue for me. The problem is fixed after the last Windows updates.
