Can't issue missions to carrier planes

Its April 1942 and hardly any of my carrier planes can be issued missions, ie there are no arrows anywhere. except for one squadron of Corsairs.. some are carrier trained, some are carrier capable,the carriers all have 4 Sq each and under the limit of planes. maybe its a command HQ issue? or are they training? the missions are still highlighted in green, set to naval attack and escort mostly. and can I set them to independent command?

Screen shots are pretty much required for responses to questions like this. My question is, have you overloaded the carrier with Aircraft?

All carriers have less than 70 planes, all carrier capable or trained so no problem there
I am playing dec 8, full campaign, 1st time and just a trial run, I have a good grasp of everything but this is puzzling, I have tried setting patrol levels but that makes no difference.
some squadrons are attached to different commands, it makes no difference if they are docked or at sea etc, the only squadrons that could be issued missions where the corsairs, but once they returned toPH they went offline as well

This looks very strange. Have you tried saving the game, then fully exiting the program and starting it up again?

saving and exiting makes no difference, its been like it for about 3 days now (human time), I did let the computer play both sides for three months one night from Jan 1942 to March 1942, and it has been since then that I noticed the problem

I was going to say how in the world did he get Corsairs in '42. I want some.

In scenario 6, the unit VBF-8 has a delay of 9999. That means the unit should never appear on the map.
Notwithstanding what the OP claims, he is not really playing scenario 6. Either someone has attempted to modify the "as shipped" scenario (saving it to a post #25 save slot in the process) or somehow it's data has become corrupted.
