Stalingrad!

Once again I am searching for detailed maps of Stalingrad.

After many hours of searching, it appears that they are very rare.

I recently found an excellent area map of the city dated 1937.
Unfortunately, it is 1 1/2 megs zipped so I cannot attach it.

I also found some maps for sale (I cannot afford these, I have decided).

So, if anyone has any inner-city maps of a scale appropriate to SPWAW, I would really appreciate being pointed in the right direction. They need to be cheap but free is better!

If anyone has an SPWAW Stalingrad map they think is accurate, I would also appreciate seeing that (them).

I emerged from my last attempt at large Stalingrad scenarios somewhat cut and bruised (and disappointed) so this time, I will be more careful with the prep work.

It will be nice to see the product of your efforts, Redleg!

Have you been over to www.stalingrad.net and looked under their "maps" section? Maybe you can find something useful there.

hi Redleg!

I have the map that came with the game Stalingrad from Avalon Hill back in 1995. It is in the 400 m/hex scale. If you would be interested I can scan it for you.

Hello guys.
A good site for S'grad.

The Avalon Hill 400 per hex probably doesn't have much detail I would guess. Hopefully, I can find something which will more precisely locate at least the major buildings, factories, etc.

I have some pretty good stuff that has accumulated over the last 3-4 years. One locates Water Works, Power Plant, Bakery, and the Brickworks. Some of the older stuff I have locates Tractor Factory, Red October, Baricady Gun, Refinery, Commie HQ, Red Square, Univermag, Pavlov's House, etc.

Tankhead, I'll leave it to you to decide if you thing the AH map would be useful, I'd be grateful for it.

It will take about 8 of the 240 high maps to create all of Stalingrad so it is a major undertaking.

The Volga River seems to range between 10-20 hexes wide.

It is more than 100 miles between Train Station 2 in the South and the Tractor Factory in the North.

Thanks for the inputs, guys. Every bit helps.
