I believe this happened on the start of the 3rd turn. The game just hung, and when I alt-tabbed to windows the following message was displayed: "Error getting type 'id=sovietguard_1' from Upgrade!"

I did get the 'newer version already installed' message when installing the visual studio parts of the installation, but this looks more like a game data bug to me.

yes, this is an error probably based on a wrong support unit. We will look into this and inform you about the result.

this was an error in the reinforcement script, that was made when we introduced the Guards status for Soviet units.

Will be fixed in next version.

I had the same freez-up on this scenario playing the germans and it was after the third turn.
