Karas, Dutch New Guinea: a Douglas A-20 Havoc is caught by Japanese flak and swerves out of control.
the Douglas A-20 Havoc dives disappears in smoke and spray into the harbor.
the A-20 Havoc falls to its' end in the water.

I remember seeing this as a kid reading a book about the Pacific war. Powerful and tragic pictures.

Talk about raising the pucker factor for the wingman. I don't know about you but seeing that guy smoking and swerving at me would squeeze me tight and shut.
