Passenger Ship & Foreign Cultures

Howdy,

After making my first colony, my passenger ship did manage to shuttle a few extra colonist from my initial homeworld. But shortly after, they started only ferrying people from my neighbor (another race). Why is that?

Is there some kind of setting somewhere that you can set a preference to where your passenger ship will pick up people from?

Thanks!

Could be many reasons, the main factor in my experience is tax differences and population size. Basically to promote emigration tax your homeworld to the ground (well above zero approval is best to prevent rebellion) then put the recipient world at 0% tax rate, there should be significant migration unless they are very distant. If your homeworld is at max population size especially it will migrate fast.

A good idea might be to forbid other races to migrate there unless you are fine with getting an alien colony in case they migrate there faster than you.

As for the ships individual behavior they'll go where the business is so they'll transfer alien populations as well, but I think they have a preference for your own. Maybe blocking for alien migration would make them focus more on your own population.

Basically set your policy to 'Do Not Accept' on both same family races and other races and it should prevent any alien migrations.
