Just curious, I know this aircraft could dive with 2 x 250kg bombs, but if delivering a torpedo, did it dive or deliver it conventionally?

Also, it's carrier capable, but it could only operate off Taiho or Shinano. Any house rules on that?

OT but why start another thread. Endurance on aircraft. Does that refer to the engine, does it mean the engine will need replacing and do you need to keep extra engines in the pool to prevent an operational total loss of the aircraft?

For your first question, conventional delivery is the only way to air drop a torpedo (at least in WWII). As for you second question, house rules are what you make them and all parties agree to! So if the Grace is restricted, it is. There were a lot of individual problems with carrier based aircraft that the game doesn't recognize (especially UK with the very low overhead of their hanger bays) which can be converted into house rules if true realism is desired.

At no point in time could an airborne torpedo be delivered by a fixed-wing aircraft in a dive.

Dive bombing and bomb bays just don't go together.

Yes, the engineers at Curtiss and Aichi along with a few fools who tried to do it, would have tried to convince you otherwise but they were wrong and today we just know better. The issues are many and while you CAN drop a bomb from an internal enclosure while in a dive (any angle) IF you use the appropriate swings and flight parameters, your imparted accuracy on the bomb will be substantially inferior to having just used a mark on the windscreen and released the weapon in level flight. This is 100% of the time.

Think of bombing as playing darts with those cheap plastic things. With the bomb on an external rack/pylon and in or out of level flight you are still playing darts inside the bar. With a bomb in a bomb bay and flying in level flight you are playing darts outside on the deck and its a nice calm summer day. With a bomb in a bomb bay flying outside of level flight, you are playing darts outside on the deck and the wind just blew the chip bowel off the table.
