Could you please tell me wether or not 'Civil War II' will run with a 256MB Radeon HD 2600XT Video Card?

Many thanks for any help with this.

Iain,
Thanks for your speedy reply. It's a real shame, because I was looking forward to buying this title today.

It seems strange, though, as the previous titles from Ageod don't need such a powerful Video Card. I have many of these games, using the AGE engine, and they have always run just fine - including 'Pride of Nations' and its expansions.

Hello,

The game will run without issue with a 512 Mb video card. Now with a 256 Mb one, this is more chancy. That would be a pity to pass on CW2 without trying though, you should perhaps try the Napoleon's Campaign demo, it has a big map...

Cataphract,
Are you running on a desktop, I assume? There's plenty of low-mid range cards available for cheap. Amazon and newegg should have cards more than powerful enough to run ACW 2 for just a few bucks... er, rather pounds.

I recently picked up a RADEON HD 7700 for about 90 dollars, runs everything I've thrown at it just fine, and it's not even close to a high end card nowadays.

I have a GEForce 6150SE nForce 430 (256 MB of dedicated video memory, and 1663 shared system memory). Will CWII run with this video card? Thanks.

Thanks for the advice Boomer & Pocus, in the end I decided to chance it with my trusty 256MB - as I have a long history with these games - and so far so good! Installed just fine and seems to play okay, but I don't know if this may change as I get further into a large game. So, fingers crossed!

If you run into troubles, then it can be when ... winter is coming! [:D]

Because the map textures will suddenly phase out (and in) to others ones, and this can put some stress on your video card. In this case, there are means to disable that, with an option in the Main Menu \options window.

I had issues with the strain on my machine because of the bitmap in AGEOD's WW I game, but the requirements of this last game dwarfs all of my E510 resources.

Perhaps some day soon I will upgrade to Win 7, till then ...

That looks to me like a cut and paste job from the first Civil War. Then again, I have Intel HD graphics and am running the game just fine so who knows?

Hi,

The only specs, as published by Matrix are up to date. The manual specs are not, we missed proof reading this part, sorry.

As for integrated graphics cards, that's not a given. Some users play without problems with that, some have to reduce texture size within game or play without winter graphics. It depends if you would accept that, should you encounter an issue. We can't guarantee it will works 100% of the time.

Yes it will run on that. I tested the game on three systems, including one with these specs:

Pentium D @ 1.8GHz
2 Gig ram
On board Intel Graphics with 1 GM memory

The game ran fine, not as fast as my power pc, but it worked.
