I installed the game on my PC which is running DirectX 11 and .NET 4. I receive the following error message each time I run the game:

Error in initializing mainform: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3DX.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found.

Please tell me that I do not have to revert to a previous version of DirectX.

Cheers,
Carl

What you can try is going to your installation directory and looking at the PreRequisites\directx_mar2009_redist sub-folder. In there you should find dxsetup.exe. Run that and see if that helps please.

Just to verify, You left both direct x and .net checked and allowed them install during the instillation process. Correct?

Cheers,
Gerry

Yes, during the install process I left both options checked.

Ok, manually running the DirectX executable from the Prereq directory did the trick. Thanks for the assist. I am looking forward to playing the game. Congrats on getting this title out!

Gerry and Erik,

Is it possible the Windows UAC is blocking some folks from auto installing the libraries? When they do a manual install are they getting the dialog?

Nice point Jim, thanks! This could possibly be the reason.

When manually installing D-X I indeed get the UAC dialog (when UAC is enabled, that is).

The same error message for me, but after installing manually DirectX not problem. The problem is the installer says it has installed DirectX!
