ship production two

Besides halting is there any way to force a ship to complete production. I had a Kongo class BB at Tokyo 25 days away from completion, I somehow got it to 23 days when it stopped again. I have nothing being accelerated, I have stopped production of smaller ships at Tokyo. My naval is at 1500 and estimate is about 2900, so I know I'm under but I would like to finish the ship to free up room for later ones.
A note to developers is there a way you can change the production list so we have more flexibility on priority?

Why was a Kongo in the production queue? Those were among the oldest warships in the IJN when the war started.

Steve,
Since it wasn't brought up in your last thread, I'll mention it here. The ironman scenarios were designed to aid the AI, thus giving players a greater challenge. They weren't really designed to give players an even greater ability to trounce a computer opponent that needs all the help it can get once you learn to play the game. The production issues you are having are the result (mostly) of you playing a side you were never really meant to play - they are not tech support problems or game errors. In most non-ironman variants, you have a reasonable amount of choices you can make with regards to production (you don't have the ability to build absolutely everything in your queues, plus build lots of planes, plus fill out all of your LCUs, etc., etc., so you have to pick and choose wisely.) In Ironman, you actually have more choices playing the side you're playing right now, but again they are just choices (the flexibility you're asking for) - you still don't have the ability to build it all. For the moment, turn off production for everything you decide not to build so that at least you can decide for yourself what does get built instead of letting the computer do it for you, which is what's happening to you now. Until you get your estimate below your actual production, you'll keep getting the seemingly random results you're seeing now.

Damian (no1487477) mentioned in your other post that it might be worth reading his Econ Doc. If you haven't already done so, I'll mention it again. You'll be a lot less frustrated when you really understand how this part of the game works, and Damian does a good job of explaining it.

I tried to read the doc but I wasn't getting download cooperation from my computer. Its more of trying to understand why I got it started only to see it stop again. I have been playing with stopping production of other ships and it didn't seem to do anything.
I just wish there was a more rational way of trying to figure out how the computer makes a priority and how to adjust the priority

Again, as Quixote tried to state: You are playing the wrong side of an Ironman scenario. Stop. Restart choosing the allies. The game will work. If you persist on playing the IJ in your chosen scenario, things will NOT work correctly.

If you want to play IJ in an Ironman scenario, then play Allied Ironman. It is a great AI scenario where the AI plays the allies and you plan the IJ.

The problem with this is, near as I can tell, the AI doesn't need to spend Shipyard points in order to produce any ships.

In this thread: tm.asp?m=3198064

I think he calls it: Revenge of the Dorniers. Nasty. [;)]

okay I used win zip to unzip the file and all I get is this page again. I saved to desk top, opened up winzip, put the file into winzip and unzipped, but I don't get the game file.

If you are hell-bent on getting slaughtered by the AI, I'll give you instructions on how to download this in the next paragraph. Before I do that, might I respectfully suggest (given only the questions you've been asking as a gauge for your experience level) that you just try playing Scenario 1 against the AI until you feel really comfortable with how everything (including production) works? Once you get yourself to the point where you are achieving easy auto-victory over the AI, then you may want to play the scenario Pax gave you the link to. I don't play against the AI much, but my understanding is that this scenario was designed to give even veteran players (5 years+ of WitP and/or AE) a challenge. If you are still working on understanding things like production, you may have as little fun with this scenario as you are having in the one you're playing now.

That said, if you are still dying to try it out, then do the following.
1. Click on the link Pax provided.
2. Scroll down until you see the post with Scenario 17 listed, followed by an attachment.
3. Left click on the attachment.
4. Right-click on the item in the window you just pulled up called AEdataupdateS17.zip
5. Select the "Save target as" option
6. Choose your Desktop as the destination, then manually enter the file name as "Scenario17.exe"
7. At this point, you can either run the installation program when prompted, or click on the icon you just created on your desktop. Follow the instructions, and install it wherever you have the rest of your scenarios installed.
8. Start a new game using scenario 17, then watch all the un-capped ships you use race each other to the bottom of the Java Sea.

Ive played the game for a while. I use to play the original version, so production as the Japanese is the next thing I could learn better.

Not sure what this is ... if you mean additional ships, then create your own mod.
