I have been using this a lot. It is a great way to move leaders and units great distances in one turn. Is there some limit of how many re-deployments can be done each turn? I can't see that there is. Is there a range limit? I tried to re deploy an officer to Springfield and got the illegal region message, same message for Ft. Smith, but Little Rock was successful.

I haven't found a limit, either, but it seems you need to deploy them to a location with a rail line (at least that's what I've noticed thus far). Careful: if you select a leader in a stack, the whole stack goes! (Once sent half a division across the country by accident.)

Is there something about this that doesn't quite pass the smell test? I can understand one officer, but half a division?

I agree. Moving a force like that w/out a rail cost just didn't seem right. Besides, I didn't want those troops in NYC!

Pretty sure you are using rail movement. If it's just a leader I don't think that affects your total rail availability for the turn but if you move units it should subtract from your rail capacity. That is how I remember from AACW but it may be different in CW2.

There should be a railroad usage indeed.

Ah, yes, there is rail use for non-generals. I tested it last night.

by the way, the betas believed this was too convenient, but then they are a bunch of grumpy aaaaah.... what's this gun on my head? they are very nice!
so, if you players have an opinion, you can express it!

Personally, being used to CW1, I hedge toward not liking redeploy button for non-leaders, simply for the reason I noted above (ie, thought I was redeploying a leader, and instead the entire force took off). A clerical error like that could ruin an entire offensive front! Selecting that rail button makes the choice of moving troops more deliberate.
Still like the redeploy for leaders, though.
