What I'm trying to do is set up just a little experimental scenario with an S-300 installation as the centerpiece. I couldn't find a Unit to import, and when I just place the unit, all I get are the TEL's - no radars or command facilities.

I'm no expert, but I know that all these SAM installations have stuff (TELs, Radars, Command trailers, etc) associated with them. How do I ensure that I've got an accurate installation, because it appears that when I place a unit, all I get are the TEL's. I can import some units, but the list doesn't include (for example) a Soviet/Russian S-300 installation as far as I can tell.

Even when I try something simple like an SA-8, which has its own integral sensors, I seem to get just the missiles with no radars.

Obviously, I have to be doing something wrong. Could anyone give me a step-by-step on how to create, say, an S-300PS (or any other SAM site, for that matter) installation that's accurate?

I just tried it out in the editor. I placed a soviet SA-10 battalion (DB record number: #1495), and it includes Flap Lid and Clam Shell radars. Is that what you're looking for?

You need a battery which seems to include the FCR and CW Acquistion radar and 6 Tels.
If you want to build some thing a little bigger, then take 3 to 4 Batteries and link them to a Big Bird C.
I think the command vehicle (GCP) and the transloaders etc are abstracted.

Some units do not show their sensors until you push the "Start/Resume" and let run for a second, then you can pause it and you will see them then.

Unfortunately, it didn't work for some darn reason. This is what I get with #1495 - absolutely no radars with the unit. I hit enter a few times just to make sure they weren't hiding under there, but no - that is the only unit in play.
This is gonna drive me nuts....
