[WAD] About the database

The database lists really low maximum ranges for several torpedoes (6 miles for the latest Mk48 ADCAP, 7 miles for Type 65-76 wake homing, etc.)
I know the official/unclassified spec on Mk48 is range "over 5 miles" but modeling just 6 miles is a joke-- Even WW2 heavyweight torpedoes would exceed that.
Here's a source for the Type 65 stating a max range of 50km @ 50km/h and 100km @ 30km/h
Are the database values the actual maximum torpedo ranges modeled in the sim; or do these distances represent more of a worst case (for example when fired at a fast fleeing vessel in a tail chase) situation?
