Chemicals and nukes

Are there chemicals and nukes in the game? I think I saw a map with some markers showing contamination iirc. Also is there any doctrine modeled? Thanks (or should I say, tanks).

We have tactical nuke strikes from SSMs and also persistent and non-persistent chemical strikes from missile platforms. Those items are in creation scenarios and as a player you have to decide on whether or not to use them. The come with a negative VP cost to use so you really have to plan their use well. I don't believe we gave any to the AI in scenarios right now. We would need to add a bit more refinement to the fires operations to have the AI use them with intelligence. It is something we have talked about and I'm pretty sure it is on our 2.1 wish list for consideration.
As for doctrine, there is only getting authorized to use them in a scenario. I won't say for sure that some maps may have contamination issues to deal with. [;)]

The AI cannot fire WMD in the game. Only the gamer can fire those.
The first time I had one fired it was by the AI and some of my own troops were in the blast zone!! [X(] It was right after that the AI was no longer allowed to play with nukes!! [:D]
