Is anyone noticing the tilt effect on the vehicles? because I'm not.
And yet I can see that the images for the various angles are there on the graphic files.
Comments?

We had planned to use those in the game, but it was too twitchy / jerky. There are no transition animations, so the vehicles shift immediately from level to tipped and it was decided this was too unnatural and distracting. There was no simple way to fix this in the 2D engine so they were disabled.

But then that was normal behavior wasn't? I mean, we were used to it.
Why not use only one image for the vehicles like all the mods out there instead of disabling it?

I am happy to hear it was attempted.
This thread made me load up CC5 classic and see what they looked like. I have been playing mods for so long I almost forgot. I tried to FRAPs it for more detail but couldn't figure out how. I didn't find the transitions jerky in CC5. They were subtle enough to be acceptable. With PiTF, do they seem jerky because of the new graphics? Or maybe the tilt images show more than what CC4/5 ever showed.
Does the tilt of vehicle affect the way rounds hit the vehicle? If they do it would still be good to have them. I've always found the tilt graphics useful so I don't get caught at a STEEP ANGLE in a fight. The extra detail in the game was great to... along with "3D" buildings...

The tilt graphics were there to help with immersion and understanding of the slope of the ground/map. It's okay the mod makers did not do it to the amount of effort but a game being sold as advancement over the original CC games???
Having said that the larger graphics for vehicles probably made it much more noticeable when the images were changed. The 3d version should bring it back with hopefully more images/steps to make it more subtle as the larger scale used for maps/tanks needs to stay!

Yes, the larger graphics and the turret shadows made the sudden 'tilt' a lot more jarring. It could also be that the more frequent elevation changes on the PitF maps caused it to happen a lot more. I haven't gone back to stock CC5 but it could be their maps were more like flat plateaus instead of smooth elevation changes.
The only thing CC has ever tracked in terms of hits on a vehicle is the possibility of a belly hit on a tank cresting a linear obstacle like a wall or hedgerow. That's still there. But the tilting was only visual.
The new 3D engine has 3D vehicle models resting on 3D terrain, so they're 'titled' all the time.
