Justice for Nathan Bedford Forrest black cavalrymen.

About 20% of lieutenant general Forrest hand picked men were afro americans.
I would like to see AGEOD honor these men with own artwork.

Besides the 45 slaves he took with him, I am not sure what your talking about. Any references?

What's the source for that?

Confederate forces did have a number of blacks as camp assistants and some even took up arms, but I don't think 20% is accurate.

Nathan Bedford Forrest, the founder and first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan? That Nathan Bedford Forrest?

Yes, that one. Forrest Gump's ancestor.

You miss my point. I was dubious that a KKK'er had black soldiers in his command. Any proof?

The clip mentions 20% of his escort company being black, not 20% of his entire force. How is Aegod supposed to show that 20% of his escort company was Black in-game?

And I imagine that 20% were his camp servants. Before the war he was a slave trader. Forrest hated black people with a passion and (likely) had them massacred at ft pillow. After the war, he assisted in developing the KKK. So I doubt he had black men as combat cavalrymen. I could t imagine many confederate troops wanting to serve in a regiment that did.

Sometimes history doesn't fit the pop-image-history we have created and with which we comfort ourselves.

For example, everyone today believes the N-word only has ever referred to black slaves. But back then, it also referred to white slaves. Oh, you didn't know there were white slaves, you say? Today we have built a religion around the "offensive racist" usage of the n-word as pertaining only to blacks. Easily searchable, use "white (n-word)s, American slavery" to find the truth.

Sigh. But in the game? If the game were to be very historically accurate, many would find it distasteful. For example, Lincoln as a White Supremacist? The war not fought over slavery? I thought it very daring that the Civil War II game used an excerpt from Lincoln's first inaugural and for that I give hearty applause. But to go further? Dare we confront the very ugly issue of exactly why the so-called civil war (it was not a civil war) started? Let's not and just play the game.

But still, best not to confuse the misinformed with too much history or they will begin to question their existence.

IMHO, this issue is not within the scope of the game.
