Have just changed from XP to Windows 7 and have forgotten and cannot find how to make the display change from the default to 1920x, especially in 7! Can anyone help?

You have to add the -px and -py switches to the end of the executable in your shortcut. Details on this are found in the "What's New" file in your WitPAE folder, or you can search the Tech support section on the topic of "switches." This topic comes up pretty frequently. Here's a link to one of the threads discussing switches, but there are literally dozens of them.

Thanks - did that did so with dashes not hyphens and still no solution. Wondered however - what exactly is a "quick start shortcut" in Windows 7. Apologies for ignorance but suspect brain still locked in XP mode!

Follow the steps below. They aren't hard, but you do have to do them all correctly.

Please note you need to use legal video modes for your hardware (video card and monitor).

I'm not sure if it's a mistake above but the legal modes are 1920 x 1080 or 1920 x 1200.

Quixote and Reg many thanks - finally got it working. All that I would add (for any other Win7 neophyte like me) is that one must then start NOT from the desktop but from the start menu quickstart list (wot I eventually found!). Now to play my next 1,000 hours plus.
