This is a near future scenario featuring a small conflict between India and South Africa. I would be grateful for any feedback regarding the scenario. I hope people enjoy it. Thanks.

Your side briefing says "Indian fishing trawlers are moving to a rendevous point outside of South Africa's Exclusive Economic Zone. Guide these vessels to the rendevous point and protect them from attack." However, I don't see any rendezvous indicated on the map. I'm assuming that the little blue "A" on the bottom left of each of the fishing boats mean they are under automatic control, so I'm guessing they know where to go, but I don't know where that is.

Yes, exactly. The little A means the fishing boats are allies, but they are their own side, and not under the player's control. But, yes, the fishing boats know where to go. Your job is just to make sure they get there safe and sound. (I suppose I could have marked this with reference points on the map for the Indian player, but it did not seem necessary. Sorry for any confusion.)

Hey Mark,
Nice little one [:)]
Would you consider it "release-grade" (i.e it gets included by Miguel on the next scen pack release), or still needing work?
Thanks!

I think it's about ready to go, but I'm going to wait a day or so more and see if anyone spots any mistakes that have to be fixed.

Yeah, I had trouble with the Grizzly's, kept say they self destructed because of a illumination issue.....odd...once that FFG was lost it was easy pickings for the Grippens.

Not sure what good the Grizzly is if it self destructs. Now it did kill the C-47 so I am not sure what is going on.

Good job, nice and small.
I also have trouble killing those Gripens, especially with those beam riding(i think thats what they are doing) SS-N-11, this gives them a pure-pursuit course and a low Pk on a beam-aspect.
I also had a interesting engagement with the sub, which i lost[:D].
I had a lot of fun!

I've had a lot of fun playing it, I've lost one frigate and 3 fishermen, one of them due to the sub. Enemy sub and a frigated destroyed, some ac shotdown. I found myself bitting my nails as the Grippen were overflying my Krivak at 40000 feet and its Sa-N-11 were not able to engage them that high.
Nice scenario!

Looks like people are enjoying it. I can't think of anything else that needs to be fixed or changed. Besides just saying, "Miguel, please consider this for inclusion in the next scen pack release," is there anything I need to do? Thanks.

I noticed in one AAR that the Gripens used up 22 chaff containers, and still lost two of the four aircraft, so I wonder if part of it is that the JAS 39 is just harder to hit--it is a fast, nimble aircraft with good anti-missile defenses. Maybe the Grizzly missiles are self-destructing because the chaff keeps them from getting a good fix on their target? I don't know, but maybe that explains how hard it was to hit them.

There are five Indian trawlers (Geeta, Varsha, Neha, Sita, Posha), however I noticed that there are only four events for trawlers reaching the destination (Posha is missing). You still get penalized for Posha getting sunk, but you won't get the reward when it reaches the destination.

Another issue with the scenario (at least in 1.06) is that the South African Gripens never attack the trawlers. See:
tm.asp?m=3789527
Would it be possible to get the scenario updated?

I've created a revised version and will posting it in a new discussion thread. Thanks for the feedback. This was one of my first scenarios, and I'm glad to see people are still finding it interesting.

LOSSES:

3x Commercial Trawler [800t DWT]
The aircraft scored a hit, which signaled the beginning of the hostilities, and were subsequently all recycled in energy and debris. The Amatelo then received our regards and is now an eternal grave for its sailors.
The surprise came from the Manthatisi as she was able to sink two trawlers before being processed accordingly.
All in all it was enjoyable.
