Creating walls and hedges in SPWAW

What's the best way of creating/simulating walls and hedges so that they follow hexsides rather than take up complete hexes? The scenario in question requires the creation of a wall to do this between a line of road hexes and some building hexes.

I don't think it can be done. You'd need another row of hexes for the hedges or wall.

I've never seen it done. Would require six separate new hedge icons, one for each edge of the hex, even then the way roads run in the game it would be irregular. Then some fool in a tank would drive through the hedge and knock it down anyway.
