House rules
We adopted following restriction (copy-pasted from Q-Ball AAR)
1. RAIDING: Limitations to raiding, similar to Jim Burns's AAR. Single Cav Regts may only raid in border states, and the West. Outside of border states, raiders must either a) have a named leader heading the stack, or b) have at least one friendly city in that state. This puts a little bit a lid on hordes of cavalry all over the place.
To start with I have limited understanding what is possible to achieve and what needs to be achieved to win this game. Due to limited knowlegde I do not have proper plan and will act according to developments.
Early June '61 Mississippi
Mississippi area: many new units have been recruited in area. First objective is Cairo.

I will stay in West Virginia what hopefully will force Aurelian to commit enough troops to give me advantage in the west.

Thank you. I have so little control over developments, that I feel luck will be crucial factor.
Yes, I would be happy to play against you, but first I need to learn what is going on.

In my incompetence I haven't seen it coming. Union forces have landed on Island 10, not too numerous, so I hope I won't get punished.

Both sides are strengthening their defensive positions and fighting for possession of key cities.
Loudon was recaptured. Further north despite loss in Morgan Harper's Ferry is safe.

Bad, bad news. Island 10 has been lost. Intiall battle ended up in stalemate, but looses were just too great. There is glimmer of hope, relief force is on the way. Not too big but with some punch nevertheless.
In the meantime gen Whiting and 2000 will advance north to capture Chester.

Marauding Union formation was defeated at Harper's Ferry. Not the most brilliant victory ever, but gave me opportunity to advance across Potomack and gen Magruder will cross it with 6000 men.
Further in the south Aurelian landed units at Fort Monroe. Few weak formations have been send there to contain potential threat to the capital.

Massive victory at Island 10. Redeploying T Jackons from Virgina was decisive move.
I didn't have enough troops enough to recapture fortress, but more units are on the way and I sense I can achieve it if I keep pressing on. Hopefully I have more reinforcements at hand than Aurelian.
Further north, Chester was captured and cavalry raid was sent to Salem.

Situation here isn't great. Clarksburg forces are running out of supply so I gather cavalry force to launch attack on besieging forces.

Army of Potomac ended up besieged in Manassas. It gives me opportunity to lauch attack from the north supported by sortie from the city.
To achieve that Army of Shenandoah is gathered in Leesburg.
In the south gen Butler (115 CV) advances towards Richmond, so several poor units were sent contain him. Willamsburg is defended by 1600 militia.

Chaotic battles at Island 10. For some obscure reason Polk retreated to the south.
Not great, but more troops are on the way.

Situation is still far from great and every wasted turn makes Union forces at Manassas stronger. It can end up in massive disaster.

Raiding in the north suffered defeats, further south Confederates were victorious, but it might be to late now. Enemy forces at Island 10 are more numerous

For some obscure reason despite wining yet another battle McDowell withdrawn and only token forces are maintaining siege.
