Update just hangs

When I try updating the program the updater just hangs. This has happened with 1.00 and 1.01 (I updated manually). I am running Windows 7 Ultra 64bit with 4GB of RAM. If I let it run it will eventually just say Not Responding and I have to terminate through the task manager. It never gets past the first step.

Since you said you updated to version 1.0.0, am I correct in assuming that you bought the game at Essen? There have been problems updating from the 0.99.2 version. I am not familiar with the particulars, but if that is your situation, then I'll see if I can find someone who can help you.

Actually I just purchased 1.00 on Friday. It was at that version out of the box. I tried running the updater and it locked up. I then went to the site and found there was a 1.01 patch which I manually downloaded and installed. I thought that may have fixed the issue but when I tried again, simply expecting to see a message saying something like "you have the latest version", it just locked up again.

If you allow me some advice, I would try to reinstall everything from scratch...

I'm not sure if I would bother reinstalling; I've got a bunch of Matrix games and have never gotten the updater in any of them to work. I think it's a firewall issue of some sort, but not sure. For me it is easier just to update manually.

I believe Capitan also mentioned he cannot get the updater to work.
Here's something to look into. I have two PCs with the game on them (so I can beta test NetPlay). One of them would auto-update and one of them would not. I looked at the Firewall settings (the Exceptions tab) and noticed that the one that would not update did NOT have UPnP Framework checked as an exception. I checked it and then the Auto-Updater worked.
Might be worth a look.
