-and how about a sound mod to replace that annoying end of turn drum roll!
Was bad enough in Advanced Tactics.

You can turn off sounds using the Interface menu.

And you can easily mod the german flag, is in your game directory ../Bitmaps/Flag Bitmaps/Germany.bmp

Here's some flags that I put together using old Combat Mission modded flags. See if these work for you.
