Is it purely a Wargame Club or are you going to allow kids games from Xbox and PS3 or 4 they call wargames which are not. I'm tired of these sites calling themselves wargame sites and they have all kinds of games dicussed there.

PTO4 is on ps3 via digital download. I haven't tried it but I would consider PTO2 a wargame, I assume 4 was also.

I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.

But good luck.

Same here. I've never been much of a ring-knocker. Social clubs tend to alleviate the need for personal ethics in return for political nepotism and social conditioning.

Today's wargamer gentlemen's club is tomorrow's Council on Foreign Relations. Hey, Slaak's gone and someone here needs to see shadows behind every curtain. Might as well be me. [;)]

One more comment like that and youre going to the cracker barrel, and I don't mean the restaurant with bland, boring food.

Lol. Got a bird unthawing in the fridge for just that reason right now. I was going to smoke it but she had other plans. I'm not sure about the c.b., but I'd say that the missus chicken n dumplins would be hard to beat. She always makes these homemade sourdough rolls that go with it that are worth the price of admission alone. Chicken and dumplings with rolls is one of those meals that will feed 8 people for around 6 dollars.

Chicken and Dumplings and Coca-Cola chocolate cake, that is the meal to get from Cracker Barrel.

I guess it's because we're country folk and the food that c.b. makes are staples here so IMO they never measured up. So when we do go out to eat we usually get Italian. To be fair though, I never had their chicken and dumplins.

On topic for noissy. Are you aware that your home link is dead?

Missouri_Rebel,

If you are not careful we will all be inviting ourselves round for dinner. Sounds delicious and definitely making me hungry.

Best wishes,
Steve

I used the above link to check it out. When I went to look at the forum I got a prompt to join The Google Community to use it. Definitely not going to do that!

Thanks for your comments folks.
Firstly, I apologise for 'shouting', I merely copied
and pasted from my webpage for speed.

The site explains the 'ethos' of the club.

Thanks for pointing out the home page fault,Missouri,
I'll attend to that.

As far as other comments about Google+ and me not identifying
myself, I would point out that the club has been around a couple
of years and members have come from Matrix, the Blitz, Vassal,
along with A Few Good Men, and all know who I am, as some would
testify here, good or bad!
With probably a few hundred applying for membership over the two
years, some stayed, some left, some were inactive, the club is well
known and many are still happy to belong to it.

I'm well aware that some people are paranoid about Google+ accounts
but, there are more who enjoy what Google+ has to offer and no one
as yet, who are in the membership, has complained about Google+.
If you read the site pages, you would have noticed there is a link
explaining how to join without a google+ account as well, for those
afraid of using one.

Anyway, I hope I have dealt with the sensible comments and addressed
them here.
It's merely a club I'm promoting here as some of the Matrix games are
core to the club.
I'm not forcing it on anyone, if you like the sound of it, join in, if
you don't er? - don't !

noissy, don't take it to heart. It's just that Matrix gets spammed from time to time by bots so sometime people are a little skeptical. It's not your fault, there's just so many scammers out there as you may know. Again, good luck on recruiting and enjoy.

We've gone this far I hope you dont mind.

Chicken -n- Dumplings

Ingredients:

1 whole Chicken
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 onion, chopped
4 cubes Chicken boullion
2 cups flour
1 cup shortening
4 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

1. Put whole chicken in large pot, cover with water. Add bouillon cubes, celery, onion, pepper and bring to a boil. Boil for about 45 minutes to an hour or until chicken is done. 165 degrees.

2. Remove chicken and set aside to cool. Keep broth hot. Once chicken is cool remove all bones and set aside.

3. Cut shortening into flour until it becomes a corn meal texture. Add eggs and salt until all flour is absorbed into dough.

4. Bring broth to a boil. Pull small amounts of dough into boiling broth while pushing side to side. Do not stir. Continue adding until all dough is used.

5. Add chicken back into pot.

6. Reduce heat and simmer on low for 2-3 hours.

7. Salt and pepper to taste

I think that I'll throw that recipe in to the slow cooker this weekend and see how it comes out. ;)

Re: The Gentleman's Club: is it a "ladder" site for various games or merely a match-finding and games discussion group?
