I'm playing as Allies against the AI, using my own mod. I installed the beta 1123t update. Anyway, I created several transport task forces in Aden, switched the home port to East Coast, then set them to return to home port (EC). They have been sitting in hex 36,5 for 20 days or so. Anyone know whether these will be stuck in the Twilight Zone for the duration of the game, or if will they eventually accumulate damage & sink or if will they make it to EC eventually?

It s a little unclear which TFs your showing. If you changed their destination while traveling offmap, you're probably screwed. The game engine can't handle that and changing destination should have been disabled.

If the ships are on map, they aren't going anywhere because they are out of fuel. Send another TF to the same hex which has some fuel to spare and the ships should refuel from that TF. You should then send them to an on map port with fuel to top off before the long trip to the East Coast.

Thanks for the reply. There are 3 task forces in the same 36, 5 netherworld. I'm almost certain I did not mess with the task forces after they left Aden - I knew that would be trouble. I think it has the same "nowhere" status as the rest of the off-map area, but I'll send something their way to test whether I can refuel them. Certainly a hard-learned lesson either way.

Long distance and full speed is not a good idea.

This is the first time I've tried this - I had read this thread http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/fb.asp?m=3303038 & thought I was safe with this move from off-map to off-map at full speed. I guess I figured wrong. But, if you notice, while the ships' fuel is depleting, it looks like they are not accumulating damage. Perhaps Capetown to EC works differently than Aden to EC?

Try home porting them to Karachi to refuel. Then send them to Cape Town, then to the East Coast.

Change your speed from Full to Mission, by the way.
