Any idea when?

Any idea when a patch might come? I can't play because I can't load a save. Bug report was submitted (by someone else) but I am just stuck here, unable to play because I can't load a save.

We've solved some of the "cannot load a saved game" problems.
The saved game I received from Aaron on this is for a problem that occurs somewhere in the middle of land movement. The saved games can be restored up to a point, then those after that point can't be restored.
That does not sound like your problem though.
1 - Can you restore the Fast Start saved games?
2 - Can you run any of the Interactive Tutorials? Each of them starts by restoring a saved game.
3 - Can you restore any of the saved games in the Autosave folders? Page 208 of volume 2 of the Players Manual shows where all the autosaved games are stored in the directory structure.
4 - Are you trying to restore a saved game from the opening splash screen for MWIF, using the radio buttons?
5 - Have you tried using the Browse button on the opening splash screen to select a game to restore?

2nd EDIT - curiously, when I close out of MWiF, it often remains "running" in the Task Manager. Sometimes multiple copies get backed up in there. I close them with TaskMgr "end task". Strange, huh? I've updated the OS (Win8) and defragged, scanned, etc.

Was the game installed to the default folder? <main drive letter>:\Matrix Games\World in Flames ?

Just so you know, Steve (et al) - I uninstalled and did a complete re-install, and now I am able to load save games. Must have been a corrupt(ed) download/install the first time. Working okay now. Thanks for the patience.
