Just to say the game has problem with this antivirus. You have to disable it to play the game. A bit annoying

I have Avast, and can't get it to run...says Problem with the updater.

Can I get a clue how to disable Avast to see if that's the issue?

Even with Avast completely and permanently disabled, I still can't get the updater to work.

And...it's not Avast. I decided to DL it to my desktop computer (which also has Avast), and it updated fine. I'll be playing soon. YAY!

But I still wouldn't mind a fix so that I could play it on my laptop.

Anti virus programs are notoriously bad with games. We work with a number of companies to get our programs white listed but there are so many its not possible to work with all of them.

He just said that it wasn't the antivirus program--it's something else.

Doh! Didn't read it properly!

In this case its likely a driver issue. Check your drivers are up to date as this is the most common cause of issues.
