I know this forum is dead as the dodo, but maybe there are some gamers about, who still like to play this game. If there is, I have been working on a mod,with the aim off improving the naval game mainly, but I have tweaked a great many other aspects as well. If you look at the stats, for the Ship of The Line, you can see that I have changed many aspects, I have increased the build time, but reduced manpower, they also now have a bombardment capability, against Fortresses, Ports & Cities. Movement has been increased, as well as Quality & Survivability.

This sounds very interesting, Kirk. I would like to have this mod. So I have sent you a pm.

New for the first time, all Artillery Units can now target & Attack Blockading Enemy Ships.I have now created a new updated download,with this addition implemented.[;)]

Also I would like to add a port to Malta, but alas my attempts so far all failed, but that won't deter me I will continue to try and improve this grand old lady.[:)]

I have applied the mod, if all i had to do was insert the data file yes? Apart froma rtillery firing on ships what else has been added to it? Is it a better ai. I started playing the 1809 campaign and i am not sure what if anything is different.

Yes it's for the 1805 Campaign, there are huge changes applied, all the major countries have more off everything, Production points, Manpower & Horses. The biggest change is that Spain starts allied with France! Also the naval game has been completely changed, Build times have been altered, Quality & Survivability has been increased, especially for Ships of the Line. All Artillery attack ranges have been reduced to 2 hexes only. There are a great many other alterations, but the above are the main ones.

ah right and so spain will change allegiance in 1808 automatically?

That will depend on in game events as you play.

I thought you might like a heads up,that there is a big chance, that this game will get a major update in the not to distant future, but then again, going by the lack of activity here, that might be a pointless exercise I think. If there are gamers who would like to see this great game thrive, now is the time to say so, all comments welcome![;)]

I just bought this and I'm having a blast! Hope there is a new update...

unfortunately i dont htink this one ever will be updated again, i asked about it earlier and the indication was somehow that they Lordz dont have the means to update this anymore - as though they dont have the code or something?

anyhoo its a good game beneath its heavy abstraction - on the surface it looks like a panzer general dressed in Shakos but there is alot more going on under the hood with stats and how combat is determined -
